Training and Workshops for mental health and well-being

Enhancing your self-knowledge and growing your mental wealth can be a fun and rewarding adventure.

Available short courses/workshops

Short courses for personal development can help your therapy or be a great stand-alone option to learn new skills and improve your mental health and well-being. Practical skills are taught, and you can benefit from talking to others coping with the same sorts of difficulties. These short courses/workshops increase your awareness of self and others, as well as work beneficially to resolve your personal or relationship difficulties.

The groups are small (usually 8 – 12 people) and you learn about specific mental health topics, including skills training in:

  • DBT (Dialectal Behaviour Therapy) Skills Training Group
  • Social anxiety
  • Anger management
  • Mindfulness

The courses are designed to help you to understand areas of mental health as well as provide coping techniques and strategies that can be used after the classes have finished.

Classes are facilitated by an experience presenter and registered psychologist and use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based therapies to help bring education and awareness to the topic. These are not group therapy sessions and you won’t have to reveal deeply personal information. That is best saved for your individual sessions.

How do short courses work?

Run in small groups with up to 10 people, the courses are usually 1-2hours per week and may run over 2 or more weeks. Most courses start either later afternoon/evenings during the week or on Saturdays. Each course includes:

  • Handouts of helpful information
  • A short, psychological test/pre-screening assessment or interview
  • Fun exercises
  • Ongoing work at home
